The government has extended the Rs 300 subsidy on each LPG refill for another year. This subsidy benefits over 10 crore poor households who received free LPG connections through the Ujjwala scheme. The decision, approved by the Cabinet’s panel on economic affairs, will cost the government Rs 12,000 crore in the upcoming financial year.
